Shohei Ohtani opened his season on the mound with six scoreless innings and a win for the Los Angeles Dodgers. The two-way superstar allowed one hit, struck out six and walked three in a rainy 4-1 victory over the Cleveland Guardians. At the plate, Ohtani went 1 for 3 with two walks to extend his on-base streak to 36 games, tying the longest of his career.
Cleveland managed just two hits all night and broke up the shutout with a run in the ninth. Tanner Bibee went four innings and took the loss. The teams will wrap the three game series tonight at 9:40pm.
