Free agent veteran wing Khris Middleton agreed on a three-year, $17.6 million deal with the Washington Wizards via a sign-and-trade with Dallas on Tuesday, agent Mike Lindeman of Excel Sports Management told ESPN’s Shams Charania.
Middleton’s return to Washington, where he spent portions of the past two seasons as a positive locker room presence with championship experience, is folded into an elaborate six-team trade between the Detroit Pistons, Memphis Grizzlies, LA Clippers, Milwaukee Bucks, Mavericks and Wizards, sources told Charania.
Washington sends D’Angelo Russell, a 2029 second-rounder, a 2032 second-round swap and a 2033 second-round pick to Memphis. Dallas also includes a 2033 second-round selection with Middleton to Washington.
Also in the trade, Detroit sent Caris LeVert and two second-round picks to the Bucks for Taurean Prince and Gary Harris. That deal creates a trade exception for the Pistons as well as cap savings. All three players are on expiring deals.
