Connor Hellebuyck shined in his New Jersey debut, helping the Devils beat the Dallas Stars 5-1. The 33-year-old goaltender, traded from the Winnipeg Jets four days ago, allowed just one goal on 17 shots. Coach Sheldon Keefe praised Hellebuyck’s performance, saying he seemed in midseason form. Hellebuyck, a three-time Vezina Trophy winner, spent 11 seasons with the Jets and recently helped the U.S. win gold at the Milan Cortina Olympics. He expressed confidence, noting the team’s strong play in front of him. Hellebuyck has five seasons left on his current contract.
